A survey by Booking.com found that 57% of travelers are interested in sightseeing on foot. With this niche in mind, the travel site has put together a list of seven destinations for walking tours and getting a close look at local culture and lodging tips.
1. Vientiane, Laos
Vientiane, or Vientiane, is the capital of Laos and the preferred destination for South East Asian walking tours, according to Booking.com research.
The city of 130 km² offers good day and night walks. During walking tours, travelers can experience the French colonial architecture of Vientiane’s wide avenues, visit Buddhist temples such as Pha That Luang and shrines such as Wat Si Saket.
