For those who don’t need public transportation or a car at the time of travel, these destinations can be surprising. Put on tennis and have a nice trip!

Have you ever imagined visiting a city by sight seeing on foot? This is a type of tourism that is growing among travelers and, besides being a unique and different way of knowing the destination, is also a healthy option to exercise.

A survey by Booking.com found that 57% of travelers are interested in sightseeing on foot. With this niche in mind, the travel site has put together a list of seven destinations for walking tours and getting a close look at local culture and lodging tips.

1. Vientiane, Laos

Vientiane, or Vientiane, is the capital of Laos and the preferred destination for South East Asian walking tours, according to Booking.com research.

The city of 130 km² offers good day and night walks. During walking tours, travelers can experience the French colonial architecture of Vientiane’s wide avenues, visit Buddhist temples such as Pha That Luang and shrines such as Wat Si Saket. At night, the tour focuses on a night bazaar on the banks of the Mekong River and Vientiane night market to sample local foods.
